Arc and Quiver

"Live with skillful nonchalance and ceaseless concern."

The bow of ceaseless concern
is half a parenthesis,
a supple yearning
that bends towards
the pain,
and holds the shaking
steady.

The string of skillful nonchalance
resonates and sings,
jumps on whim,
holds nothing back -
just a breeze can thrill it.

It takes both to shoot
the arrow of grief
skyward,
transforming the cloud
into rain,
splattering all
with inclusive
joy.
